:: What is Doggy Day Care?
Doggy Day Care is care of your dog during the day while you are away at work, running errands, day travel or just fun for your pet. :: Can any dog come to Doggy Day Care? Each dog privately receives a temperament screening prior to being accepted into Doggy Day Care. This is a process also requires the owner to show the dog(s) have had their required vaccinations. For more details about requirements and certain breed restrictions, please download our "Rules & Restrictions". :: Can I visit the facility before enrolling? YES! You are welcome anytime. We are open Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm. Early morning and late afternoon times are very busy because of dogs bring dropped off or picked up, so we may have more time to give you a tour during the midday, but you are welcome anytime. :: What about fleas? All dogs who come to Doggy Day Care are required to either be on a flea preventative medication or will be check for fleas every time they come. If fleas are found on your pet, they will be sent home. Our facility is specifically set up to not inhabit fleas as our outdoor yard and rubber floor are cleaned and sanitized daily. :: The outdoor yard is asphalt, isn't that hard on their paws? Although this is a hard ground it is actually a recommended ground for outdoor yards in Doggy Day Care's because it can be cleaned and sanitized. :: Do the dogs fight? It is inevitable that if you get a group of dogs playing in a room together there may be small "tiffs", but no daycare should have full blown fights. If they do it means dogs are not screed properly. Play nips that may have resulted in a wound can occur, you must know this going on. DOGS PLAY HARD...this is the nature of dogs. :: Is Doggie Day Care right for shy dogs? We encourage you to first come down for a tour. See the facility, see how safe the dogs are and how much fun they are having. We have had many dogs who have been timid before coming to Doggy Day Care who are now confident, socialized dogs who are more sure of themselves in pack situations. :: What do the dogs do all day? The dog's day is simple a "dog's day"...drop-off, play, nap, and pickup. Most dogs are dropped off between 7 and 9 am and then get picked up between 4 and 6pm. :: What kind of training do you have? We have over 10 years experience in pet care. All staff are certified in pet CPR and first-aid as well as extensive behavioral training. :: How much does is cost? Please refer to our "Services" for a complete list of all of our prices. :: Can I board my dog overnight? Yes! We understand how challenging it can be sometimes for you to get someone to watch your pet(s) for an extended amount of time. Please call 978.777.8877 to schedule an overnight appointment. GENERAL OVERNIGHT PROCEDURES Dogs are kept in daycare until they go to sleep where they are kept safe in pro-crates. The TV is always on at night for the dogs and they are only kept in there for a few hours while sleeping. The next morning at 6 am the dogs are let out for another fun day of daycare. Small dogs are kept in daycare within the small dog section while boarding. Please bring food, bedding, and any type of toy or bone that your dog may like while in their crate at night. Many people like to bring blankets as well. Most of the time someone is here on the premises for boarding. There are occasions where someone does not stay overnight with the dogs. Our Staff checks on the dogs for those hours where no one is staying over. The owner lives one mile down the street and is always checking in on the dogs at night. Our building is always locked and has several fire detectors on every floor. :: What if my dog is not accepted? Doggy Day Care is not for every dog. It does not mean you have a bad dog, just one that does not do well in "pack" situations. If you still need care for you pet during the day, you may want to consider a pet sitter to come to your home during the day to provide your dog with physical and mental stimulation. |
